The Office of State Representative Norma Hernandez is delighted to announce it’s 2024 Summer Internship Program for 77th District Youth! Thank you for your interest in applying to this summer’s internship program. Our District Office is in search of talented young individuals committed to helping their community!
Through this opportunity selected participants will work closely with staff to serve constituents of the 77th House District of Illinois. We hope to provide a meaningful experience that will both enhance and elevate their understanding of State Government.
Interns for our 2024 Summer Internship Program will work with District Staff to serve constituents of the 77th District. Through this opportunity you will:
- Answer Phone Calls
- Input Data
- Intake Constituent Requests
- Sort Mail and Correspondence Letters
- Research Policy
- Attend Virtual Briefings
- Assist in Planning of Events
- Engage in Community Outreach
- Canvass Community by Surveying Constituents*
* Note that this portion of the internship program will be heavily embedded within the program, therefore will contain a lot of walking and canvassing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Our ideal candidate must be kind and compassionate, have a passion and love for community involvement, must be able to multitask. We prefer candidates who can adapt to flexibility with time, which may consist of attending evening or weekend events.
Must be a team player, flexible, , able to adapt; and feel comfortable asking questions. Being bilingual is a plus.
